Inglewood Main Street

It’s about creation, re-creation, recycling and restoring, and it all happens on Ninth Avenue SE. Calgary’s oldest community is undergoing a rebirth of a historic nature, as many of the streetscape’s historic building facades are being restored under the Alberta Main Street Program. You’ll find the city’s largest collection of antique and home decorating shops in Inglewood, and let’s not forget the vast array of ethnic eateries and java stops.

Inglewood boasts a central riverside location just a stone’s throw from the Calgary Zoo and the Inglewood Bird Sanctuary. The area is also home to numerous historic sites, including Fort Calgary and the Deane House, the Cross House Garden Cafe, a livery stable turned auction market, and the local firehall transformed into a neighbourhood pub.

So hit the bricks or wheel out the bike and celebrate on Calgary’s oldest main street, where you can discover the past, enjoy the present and catch a glimpse of the future-Inglewood’s got it all!

Open Daily 10-5. Admission is charged. Wheelchair accessible. SE corner of the International Airport, Calgary. . E-mail: Web site:
