This dynamic museum is located in St. Albert Place, designed by renowned architect Douglas Cardinal. It is situated on the banks of the picturesque Sturgeon River and tells of the natural and cultural history of St. Albert and district. The collection and permanent exhibit examine the roles played by Aboriginal people, Metis, and missionaries in the early settlement of this area, as well as contemporary life in the community. A wide variety of temporary traveling exhibits from around the world provides a global context for the collection. Hands-on activities in the Discovery Room give kids an interactive learning experience, and adults can use the public computer to search museum records. Visitors also won’t want to miss the museum’s two historic sites. The Little White School interprets early education in the province, and the St. Albert Grain Elevator Park tells of the town’s agricultural history. Call to book a tour of the school or grain elevators.
