Initiated in 1988, the Inglewood BRZ is a non-profit organization aimed at the promotion and enhancement of existing business in harmony with the residential community. Made up of 140 business members and a Local Board comprised of 8 businesses, one community representative, one local historical society representative and a City of Calgary Alderman, the BRZ is located on 9th Avenue SE between 8th and 18th Streets. The BRZ also strives to encourage new business opportunities while maintaining the unique cultural and historical character of Inglewoods Main Street area as a valued resource for Calgarians and visitors.
Annual events include the Inglewood Antique Dealers Auction, Inglewood Community Association Winter Festival, as well as a Right for Sight Show and Shine for Retinitis Pigmentosa. Watch also for the First Annual Fringe Festival set to premiere in August, 2000. Interested Volunteers may contact Jennifer Hyde, Project Manager.
The BRZ distributes a bi-monthly newsletter to all merchants within its boundary.
