Since the establishment of the Bureau of Archives in 1908, there has been an archival program within the Government of Alberta. The Provincial Archives is a line branch of the Ministry of Community Development, Government of Alberta and is operated out of 8555 Roper Road, Edmonton.

Annual events include an Archives week held during the first week of October, as well as a Film night held in mid-March. For Volunteer opportunities please contact Ken Kaiser .
