Rutherford House

It’s still 1915 in the spacious and elegant home of the province’s first premier. Here Alexander Cameron Rutherford and his wife Mattie entertained Alberta’s movers and shakers of the day. Now the agreeable staff (dressed in historically accurate costume, of course) welcome you to this restored brick mansion. A visit is always rewarding, but the Edwardian merriment at celebrations such as Dominion Day or Robert Burns Day is without peer.

When the smell of the wood-burning stove from the kitchen stirs the appetite, the Arbour Restaurant is right there to satisfy everyone. The Friends of Rutherford House make scones that are intoxicatingly delicious, while the savouries will please the designated drivers.
