City of Edmonton Archives

The City of Edmonton Archives is located in the historic Prince of Wales Armouries. Begun in 1913, the main feature of the 80,000 sq. ft. building was a huge drill hall where generations of soldiers and cadets trained. It was so large that in 1992 a new building to house the city’s archival collections was constructed inside it. There are documents of Edmonton’s history in all forms-paper, audio tape, photograph, map, film, video and computer disk. Everyone is welcome to use the research room and enjoy the changing exhibits in the public areas.

Mon-Fri 8:30-4:30. No admission charge. Wheelchair accessible. 10440-108 Avenue, Edmonton. . Web site: www.gov.edmonton.ab.ca/parkrec/archives
