The Nordegg Interpretive Centre is located on the access road in Nordegg. The hours of operation are 9 to 5 daily from the Victoria Day weekend to Thanksgiving; all other times are by appointment. The governing authority is the Nordegg Historical Society. The admission fee for mine tours is $4.00 for adults and seniors, $2.00 for youths (7-17), and groups pay $3.00 per person. Children under 6 get in free. There is no admission fee for the museum though donations are gratefully accepted.
The collection at the museum includes photographs, artifacts, and archives relating to the history of Nordegg and area, with an emphasis on the coal mining industry from 1911 to 1955. There are also guided tours in the summer of the mine site and buildings. The Society continues to restore and stabilize the mine structures and a trail system is being constructed through the mine site.
The Nordegg Interpretive Centre does not currently offer specific education programs; however, tours are always available for students. Contact the Society for further information.
