Museum of the Highwood - Housed in the historic sandstone CPR station in downtown High River, the Museum offers a fascinating trip through time, exploring the history of the Highwood River basin. NEW feature exhibitions introduced regularly. Young visitors to the Museum will enjoy the many activities designed just for them. Lunch, morning coffee, or afternoon tea aboard the Whistle Stop Cafe (restored 1940s style, ex CNR dining car located next door to the Museum) and a browse through the Museum's "old-time" country store round out your visit.

Monday. May 2, 2000 - Grand opening of Year 2000 feature exhibition, "Getting the Goods on Mail Order Shopping", an in-depth examination of the past and continuing importance of mail order in the lives of the people of the Highwood, and indeed all western Canadians. Includes "The Eaton Story"
Saturday, September 16, 2000, 10am- 4pm - Historic House Tour, featuring 6 of High River's most memorable old homes. Includes quilt show presented by the High River Handicraft Guild and afternoon Tea. Call for tickets and information.
