Skoki Lodge is a fine example of Rocky Mountain traditional architecture, made out of logs cut nearby. A group of ski enthusiasts built it in 1931, when skiing was becoming a major winter recreational activity across the country. It was Canadas first commercial back-country holiday facility, and has changed little since additions were made in 1936. Original furnishings and fixtures increase its rustic charm, and reproductions of historic photographs on the walls strengthen the illusion that time stands still at Skoki.
11 km trail begins at Lake Louise Ski Area, Banff National Park. .
