The Gallery is named for the distinguished artist who contributed so much to art education at Banff from the 1930s to the 1950s. It is a leading contemporary Canadian art centre, commissioning new works and traveling shows. The collection contains over 1,500 works by significant Canadian artists in various media, and is especially strong in photography and video. Many pieces were created by artists at the Banff Centre, making the collection a documentary of artistic practice here.
