Abbott Pass Refuge Cabin

This Alpine-style stone hut was built in 1923 by Swiss guides who had been brought to Banff by the Canadian Pacific Railway. It has served as a high altitude base for generations of climbers. The shelter was designated a National Historic Site in 1992.
