Located in the scenic Rocky Mountain town of Jasper, Alberta, the Jasper-Yellowhead Museum & Archives is dedicated to collect, preserve and make available for research and exhibition documents and artifacts which illustrate the human history of Jasper National Park and the Yellowhead Corridor. For more than 10,000 years here in the Athabasca Valley, inhabitants and travelers just passing through have left their marks. Follow in their footsteps along this mountain corridor...experience their stories...discover The Spirit of Jasper.
Our Historical Gallery includes exhibits on the fur trade, pioneers, the
railways and early tourism in Jasper National Park as well as the history of the town of Jasper. Among the artefacts on display are Curly Phillips canoe and the ice axe recovered from Mount Alberta.
The exhibits in our Showcase Gallery change throughout the year. We host a
wide variety of regional and local artists as well as other exhibits that are
culturally or historically significant to the area.
Our Gift Shop features a wide selection of books for adults and children as
well as unique jewellery and crafts by local artists. Included in our selection
of historical books is Tracks Across My Trail-Donald Curly Phillips Guide and Outfitter by William C. Taylor for $9.95.
