Calgary Zoo, Botanical Garden and Prehistoric Park

Come explore, discover and grow at the Calgary Zoo. Hike through the Rocky Mountains, and come nose-to-snout with the mighty grizzly. Or relax in the botanical garden, amid the lush, soothing foliage, fragrant blossoms and fluttering butterflies. Step back in time to the Mesozoic era, where life-sized dinosaurs like Triceratops and T. Rex loom in the swamplands of western Canada as it looked 65 to 125 million years ago. Come play, just like the tiger cubs you’ll love to watch. Your zoo experience can range from a mid-day escape to a private wildlife party.

The Calgary Zoo is one of the top zoos in North America and, at over 80 acres, the second largest in Canada. There are over 1,200 animals, most of which live in habitats replicating their wilderness homes. The Calgary Zoo is committed to conservation and helps to increase the captive populations of vanishing species by participating in breeding networks with other zoos. One success story is the western lowland gorilla, with four active new offspring born in the last few years. The Calgary Zoo-a great place to let your imagination run wild.

Open at 9am every day of the year. Admission is charged. Wheelchair accessible. Food services available. 1300 Zoo Road SE, Calgary. .
