Fort Whoop-Up Interpretive Centre

Southern Alberta’s wild past comes to life at Fort Whoop-Up, a reconstruction of its most notorious whiskey post. Montana businessmen built the original in 1869 to trade whiskey and guns for buffalo robes with the Blackfoot. The fort features furnished rooms with trade goods, audio-visual presentations, wagon rides and daily historic vignettes. It interprets the period 1, when the last bull train made the trip from Fort Benton, Montana.

Open Mid-May to Labour Day: Mon-Sat 10-6, Sun 12-5. Winter: Tues-Fri 10-4, Sun 1-4. Admission is charged. Wheelchair accessible. Located in Indian Battle Park, west end of Third Avenue South, Lethbridge. .
