There is always something marvellous to see at the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery, accessible through the School of Fine Arts Resource Centre. The permanent collection, currently valued at $30 million, grows by about 1,500 works a year. Exhibits change every two weeks, giving exposure to the best pieces and presenting interesting curatorial themes. You can see paintings by Emily Carr, sculpture by Barbara Hepworth, drawings by Henri Matisse or prints by Andy Warhol. There are photographs by Berenice Abbott and multimedia works by General Idea. And it is more accessible than New York.
